Freelance and Fiverr Widen Workers’ Freedom

Freelancer: You are at the forefront of modern job design.

The designer’s work is here. Your “work” can now be adapted as custom clothing, suitable for you, and you are the tailor. To take advantage of it, you need an independent mind and self-awareness to define the life you really want. For some people, this may be more difficult than they anticipated because neither school nor work can ask us, “What do you like to do?” Boss and employees usually can’t do what they want; ask.

Freelancing is a way to discover your work in the world and thereby discover yourself. The Buddha recognized the difficulty and importance of finding a suitable job or a suitable livelihood. He suggested, “Your job is to discover your job and then dedicate yourself to it with all your heart.” The challenge for freelancers is to discover what they can do with all their heart. Work. Half-hearted jobs are worse than second-rate jobs; they shorten our lives.

With online resources, such as Fiverr, anyone can create their favorite or even their ideal service from scratch and test it risk-free. The production of work has never been so adapted to the wishes of individual workers. In an online microservices marketplace like Fiverr, everyone designs their own work entirely: their services, their policies, and their style. Freelancers are free to create their inner desires as long as it builds followers.

Traditionally, work has shaped the workers.

In the past, the employee development process started with the selection of flexible potential customers. It continues through coaching and ‘work training’. Finally, when the rules are enforced, the work itself reforms the workers with the help of discipline. If a job requires your presence and the proper care and education of your children also “requires” your presence, then either the job comes first, or the employer is more careful in selecting and training replacements.

In the so-called “good old days”, your preferences are your problem. If the boss even listens to what you might like more, or how you think you should do things, even if you don’t take any action, it’s considered a “favor.” After all, you’ve been listened to, haven’t you? If you don’t want this job, you can leave. The fact that employee concerns are generally ignored is often overlooked.

Does the job have to move workers?

Throughout history, the bending of workers illustrates how work shapes workers. Normally this work has had a wrong effect on the workers. The “freedom” in “freelancer” means that you don’t have to reform, suppress, or pretend to be who you are to adapt to the expectations of strangers. As the degree of automation increases and robots begin to perform boring tasks, the importance of the deepest personal interests and intrinsic motivation will only increase.

As independent operators, freelancers are free to shape the work that shapes their lives. This process requires self-discovery, followed by learning and working that appropriately attract, attract, and empower specific individuals. The social systems we later created remade us in their image when we lived in them. The new working model itself has a nourishing effect and will bring a more fulfilling life for many people.

One of the brightest teachers I’ve ever met, Joseph Campbell, urges everyone to discover their natural passion and “follow their luck.” According to Campbell, finding what you enjoy doing is key. He emphasized the need for meaningful work with a caveat: “I think people looking for a job for life — that is, for money — have turned themselves into slaves.” Do a job you don’t like. It can fulfill you but this is closer to survival than prosperity. Unsuitable jobs will not satisfy your hopes and dreams. It will not challenge you, discover your talents or realize your potential.

Modern freelancers are workplaces for labor innovation.

Entrepreneurs and freelancers are reinventing the forms that work can take. Observe the growth of diverse and personalized services (on sites like Fiverr) that meet the needs of both parties to the transaction. Get rid of the boss’s power hierarchy over the employee model, freelancers get along on an equal footing. They are no longer addicted to livelihood and work.

There is a constant wave of personalized experimentation with new and better ways of working. Experiments like this help shape new attitudes to work and the diversity of personalized service models. When the work we design can motivate employees and provide them with work that is so

Work can accelerate personal growth and increase life satisfaction. Surprisingly, people generally find more satisfaction in meaningful work than in seeking “escape” or pleasure. If you do the right job, I agree with playwright Noel Coward, “Work is much more interesting than pleasure.”
